Quick Answer: Kanyakumari Ticket Prices 2026
Kanyakumari ticket prices are low except for one item: the Poompuhar ferry, ₹100 Normal or ₹300 Special Entry per person, which is also your only way to the glass bridge and Thiruvalluvar Statue. Vivekananda Rock Memorial entry is about ₹20–₹30, Padmanabhapuram Palace ₹50 (Indian adult), the lighthouse ₹10–₹20, and waterfalls ₹5–₹10. Gandhi Mandapam, beaches and general temple darshan are free.
Every week someone at our Vadasery counter holds up a phone showing three different "glass bridge ticket" prices from three different websites and asks which one is true. This page is our answer: one consolidated sheet, checked on 22 October 2026 against official portals where they exist and visitor reports where they do not. For the click-by-click ferry website walkthrough, see our glass bridge and ferry online booking steps; for everything about the boat itself – slots, refunds, rough-sea rules – read the Kanyakumari ferry online booking handbook. If you want to cost the whole trip including hotels and food, our trip cost and budget calculator does that.

Kanyakumari Glass Bridge Ticket Price: What You Actually Pay
Searches for "glass bridge ticket kanyakumari" hit dozens of pages quoting ₹50, ₹250 or even ₹1,000. Ignore them – several copy prices from a different glass bridge at Kailasagiri, Visakhapatnam. Here is the honest picture for Kanyakumari:
- The bridge is offshore. It joins Vivekananda Rock to the Thiruvalluvar Statue islet – 77 metres long, 10 metres wide, opened on 30 December 2024. You cannot walk onto it from the beach.
- So the ferry is the ticket. ₹100 Normal or ₹300 Special Entry per person (Poompuhar portal, October 2026). Both board the same boats; Special only shortens the queue.
- One small ticket on the rock. About ₹20–₹30, generally described as the Rock Memorial entry. In early 2025 The Week reported a separate ₹30 bridge ticket; most visitors in 2026 report paying only once on the rock. Keep ₹50 in change per person and you are covered either way.
Realistic total for one adult: ₹120–₹130 with Normal ferry, ₹320–₹330 with Special. Fares have risen fast – ₹50 in 2019, ₹75 in March 2025, ₹100 now – so treat any blog older than a year with suspicion.
Kanyakumari Online Ticket: What You Can and Cannot Book in Advance
Only one Kanyakumari online ticket exists: the ferry, sold in 30-minute slots on the Poompuhar Ferry Service portal (psckfs.tn.gov.in). Booking closes 30 minutes before each slot, you can cancel up to six hours ahead, and every passenger needs government photo ID matching the booking. The portal shows live availability per slot.
Everything else in the table is a counter ticket bought on the day: Rock Memorial, palace, lighthouse, falls, aqueduct and wax museum. No advance booking exists or is needed, and websites offering "Kanyakumari combo tickets" are tour agents bundling the ferry with transport.
Where to Buy the Tickets: Counter by Counter
In Kanyakumari town
- Ferry: the Poompuhar jetty ticket office on the eastern shore, below the temple. Opens before the first boat; queues start forming by 7:30 AM on weekends.
- Rock Memorial: counter immediately after the landing on Vivekananda Rock. Keep small notes – UPI usually works but signal can drop at sea level.
- Lighthouse: gate counter; cash is safest. The lift to the top gallery is included. Our lighthouse viewpoint guide covers the best hour to go up.
- Temples: general darshan has no ticket. Archana and special darshan tickets are sold at the temple office; see our Kanyakumari temple timings and dress code before going.
Around the district
- Suchindram (13 km): special darshan tickets at the temple counter. Details in our Suchindram temple guide.
- Vattakottai Fort (about 7 km): walk in; read our Vattakottai Fort evening guide for the golden-hour plan.
- Padmanabhapuram Palace (37 km): the palace is run by the Kerala government's archaeology department even though it stands in Tamil Nadu. Buy at the gate; the 12:30–2 PM break catches many people out. More in our Padmanabhapuram Palace guide.
- Thirparappu Falls and Mathur Aqueduct: small panchayat counters at the entrance. See the Thirparappu waterfalls guide and the Mathur aqueduct guide.
Visiting Hours, Ferry Time and Closed Days
The timings trip people up more than the prices. A few rules of thumb from years of watching visitors arrive at the wrong gate:
- Ferry time is 8 AM–4 PM. The rock, bridge and statue share these hours because the boat is the only way there. The sea can close everything early – especially from October to December – and low tide occasionally halts boats too.
- Mondays: Padmanabhapuram Palace is closed. Plan the palace for any other day.
- Lunch hours: the palace closes 12:30–2 PM, and the Kumari Amman and Suchindram sanctums close from late morning to late afternoon.
- Afternoons: the lighthouse opens to visitors only in the afternoon, which conveniently fills the gap when temples are shut.
- Evenings: Gandhi Mandapam and Kamarajar Mani Mandapam stay open until about 7 PM, and the beaches cost nothing for sunset.
Our one-day Kanyakumari itinerary sequences all of this hour by hour so nothing is shut when you arrive.
Budget for a Family of Four: A Worked Example
Two adults and two children (aged 8 and 12), Indian nationals, doing a full day at the Cape plus a heritage day inland. We assume children pay full ferry fare (the portal publishes no child rate) and one mobile-camera ticket at the palace.
| Item | Calculation | Normal ferry | Special ferry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poompuhar ferry | 4 × ₹100 or 4 × ₹300 | ₹400 | ₹1,200 |
| Rock Memorial (upper estimate) | 4 × ₹30 | ₹120 | ₹120 |
| Gandhi & Kamarajar Mandapams, beach | Free | ₹0 | ₹0 |
| Lighthouse | 2 × ₹20 + 2 × ₹10 | ₹60 | ₹60 |
| Padmanabhapuram Palace | 2 × ₹50 + 2 × ₹10 + ₹10 mobile camera | ₹130 | ₹130 |
| Thirparappu Falls | 4 × ₹10 | ₹40 | ₹40 |
| Mathur Aqueduct | 4 × ₹10 | ₹40 | ₹40 |
| Total entry tickets | ≈ ₹790 | ≈ ₹1,590 |
Add the wax museum and you are looking at roughly ₹500 more. The surprise for most families is that tickets are the small line in the budget: transport is the big one. A sedan for the Cape day plus the heritage circuit runs about ₹2,400–₹3,400 a day in our network, which is why the ₹300 ferry upgrade often makes sense – it frees two hours of a car you are already paying for.

Seasonal Queue Notes: When the Price Is Not the Problem
- December–January: the Sabarimala pilgrim season, Christmas and New Year sunrise crowds overlap. Ferry queues of two to three hours are normal; book online days ahead and consider Special Entry.
- Pongal (mid-January) and April–May school holidays: heavy domestic crowds at the ferry, palace and Thirparappu. Arrive at opening time everywhere.
- Northeast monsoon (roughly October–December): short queues but frequent ferry suspensions. Keep the ferry flexible across two mornings if you can; Thirparappu is at its fullest and best.
- February–March and July–September weekdays: the quiet window. Counter tickets and Normal ferry fares are perfectly adequate.
Money-Saving Tips From a Local Family
- Watch the bridge for free. If the queue is impossible, the lit glass bridge is visible from the shore after dusk at no cost, and the lighthouse gallery (₹10–₹20) gives the best view of it from above in daylight.
- Pay the camera fee only where it counts. At Padmanabhapuram the ₹10 mobile ticket is enough for most families; the ₹250 still/video ticket is for proper cameras.
- Carry ₹10 and ₹20 notes. Remote counters at falls and the aqueduct rarely have change for ₹500.
- Eat between counters, not at them. Jetty-side snacks are priced for tourists. A pack of Kanyakumari's famous snacks from Vadasery – banana chips at ₹100 for 250 g, murukku and masala kadalai at the same price – lasts the whole day.

What is the Kanyakumari glass bridge ticket price?
The glass bridge can only be reached by the Poompuhar ferry, so the real cost is the ferry fare: ₹100 Normal or ₹300 Special Entry per person in October 2026. On the rock, visitors report one small ticket of about ₹20–₹30, which most describe as the Vivekananda Rock Memorial entry; most 2026 visitors report no extra charge for walking the bridge itself. Confirm at the counter on the rock.
Is there an online ticket for Kanyakumari glass bridge?
The only Kanyakumari online ticket is the ferry ticket on the official Poompuhar Ferry Service portal, psckfs.tn.gov.in. It covers the boat that takes you to Vivekananda Rock, where the glass bridge begins. Any memorial entry is paid in cash or UPI at the counter on the rock.
Where to buy the tickets for Kanyakumari attractions?
Ferry tickets: online at psckfs.tn.gov.in or at the Kanyakumari jetty counter. Rock Memorial entry: counter on the rock. Padmanabhapuram Palace, the lighthouse, Thirparappu Falls, Mathur Aqueduct and the wax museum: ticket counters at the gate on the day. Carry small cash, as UPI sometimes fails at remote counters.
What are the visiting hours and ferry time in Kanyakumari?
The ferry, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, glass bridge and Thiruvalluvar Statue run about 8 AM–4 PM, weather permitting. Gandhi Mandapam and Kamarajar Mani Mandapam are open about 7 AM–7 PM. The lighthouse opens to visitors in the afternoon (about 3–6:30 PM). Padmanabhapuram Palace is open 9 AM–12:30 PM and 2–4:30 PM and closed on Mondays.

For two adults and two children doing the ferry, Rock Memorial, lighthouse, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thirparappu Falls and Mathur Aqueduct, entry tickets come to roughly ₹800 with Normal ferry tickets, or about ₹1,600 with Special Entry. Transport, food and parking are extra.
